The Big Fat Olive Delicatessen, Gourmet and Artisan Foods

The Big Fat Olive Delicatessen has been supplying the people of Wendover and the surrounding area with fine food from all over the UK, Italy, Spain and France since December 2004. It is run and owned by two friends; Juliet Cook and Julie Bowman.

The deli offers a unique and carefully selected range of gourmet and artisan foods and a small giftware range. The business brings together Juliet and Julie's passion for quality foods and their great love of cooking and dining.

Specialities include exceptional quality cheese mainly sourced and matured by the renowned cheesemongers Neal's Yard Dairy. The deli's olives are cured and marinated by a company based in Dorset called Olives et Al who use only extra virgin olive oil to coat the olives, making them taste fresh and fruity! Other bestsellers include antipasti, charcuterie, pasta, chutneys, condiments and a range of extra virgin olive oils including a decanting service. Other suppliers include Pie Minister, Just so Italian, Seggiano and Atkins and Potts.

Juliet and Julie are always on the lookout for the best new products for customers. Recently they have started to sell more items by weight so there is no minimum amount customers can buy. They now provide Monmouth Coffee beans, preserved lemons, porcini mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and many more foods in loose quantities; a service you cannot get in a supermarket.

There are recipe books and recent food magazines in the deli and Juliet and Julie are always happy to discuss recipes and ideas and to assist in planning dinner parties. This communication is something they wish to grow through the website so feel free to email or blog with the girls and get passionate about fine food. The deli also offers a wide range of other services including cheese board selections, antipasti platters, gourmet salads, picnics, business lunches and hampers made to order.
